This amendment introduces the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as an aggravating factor in the commission of crimes—both in general and for specific offenses. The reform updates the Criminal Code and the Cybercrime Act, reflecting the growing role of AI in criminal conduct and the need for legal frameworks to adapt accordingly.

We thank the Regional Commands of Ica and Madre de Dios for their participation, and all the brands involved, as well as Ms. Carmen Rosa Delgado Ccana, President of the Board of Superior Prosecutors of the Ica Judicial District – Public Ministry; Mr. Octavio Ramos Pacompia, President of the Board of Superior Prosecutors of the Madre De Dios district; and Ms. Jennifer Chicoski, Regional IP Attaché - USPTO, for their valuable contributions to these trainings.

From May 14 to 16, Adriana Barrera, María Inés Herrera, and Silvia Solís attended the 2025 International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC) Conference in San Diego, California, USA.
Adriana Barrera had the honor of moderating the panel “The Future of IP Enforcement in Latin America: AI, Legal Innovation & Return on Enforcement,” where she led an engaging conversation on the region’s challenges and opportunities.
It was an incredible space for learning, exchanging ideas, and strengthening connections with global experts in brand protection and IP enforcement.
